Twenty Seven Years

Due to new restrictions because of rising COVID-19 cases, everything is closed on Sundays right now.

But that's okay for us!

Today, we're celebrating 27 years here in Czech, by taking a walk and enjoying our still beautiful fall weather, each other and the fact that we've had the privilege of serving the Lord here all these years.

We walked up to the village of Malenovice, to the top of the hill where we could have a good look out over this valley.

If you'd seen me 27 years ago when I drove the boys and I into the town of Havířov (Dave had come ahead of us), where we first lived, you wouldn't have seen such a big smile. No, I was scared out of my wits about making this move!

And yet, at the same time, I KNEW that it was God's plan for us. In fact, that first night here, God gave me a beautiful picture of seeing our lives 20 years down the road.

So I knew then that we were here to stay for a long time. And now here we are at 27 years!

The path has been windy, but exhilerating at times; we've also had scary and confusing times when we couldn't see what God was doing. But God has led us step by step, and overall it has been so joyful and SO GOOD to live and serve Him here!!!!

We have loved being part of what God had planned for this region of the world as we started Josiah Venture all those years ago.

As we came back home and watched the sun set from our house, we pledged to the Lord again, that we're here for the long haul, still believing Him for His movement in the lives of young people across Central and Eastern Europe.

We pray for this all the time, and will do whatever we need to in order to keep moving forward with that vision.
