Thirsty For God

Yes, I fully admit to being Tyler's mom.

But I am also his sister in Christ.

So it's from that spot (because otherwise you'd say I was biased!) that I share this with you.

Our oldest son, Tyler, preached at his church downtown Chicago this past Sunday, and sent me the link to his sermon last night. I'm so glad I had thirty minutes free to listen because it was truly excellent.

Deeply thoughtful and insightful, he talked about our spiritual thirst for the presence of God and how when that thirst is quenched, it sustains our lives. But what do you do when you don't experience His presence and your thirst is not quenched? That's the subject he preaches on from Psalm 42, a psalm of lament.

I won't spoil it for you, but he has some profound thoughts on the topic of being thirsty for God, and how to find hope in Him.

Click HERE to listen. I think you'll be stirred and encouraged by the Lord, no matter what season of life you're in with Him.

  1. I'm so glad you posted Tyler's sermon here. I listened to it this morning and LOVED it! It's Tyler being fully himself and illuminating Psalm 42 in a powerful, authentic, life-breathing way.
