Finding Spring

Late Sunday afternoon this guy made it back safely from his GYI leadership meetings in Israel. I was sure happy to see him!

In the five days that he was gone, the island made its final transition from winter to spring.

It's crazy how a few days makes all the difference.

And just in case you were thinking about planting a fig tree in your yard...

People here tell us "Don't do it!"

The roots are so strong that they will break through walls and foundations, causing all sorts of trouble unless you don't mind if it takes over your house. You're welcome for that important tip! :)

The fields here are being tilled and prepared for planting.

And the colorful blossoms are striking quite a pose against the blue sky.

We leave for home in Czech tomorrow where I'm sure we'll find spring too!

  1. I hope to one day see Hvar in the spring like this! I love the flowers and trees! Also - wow, who knew about the fig tree, right? Maybe we'll just have to rely on the two by the road below us. ;)
