Prayer for the Nations

As JV summer intern training came to a close tonight at Malenovice, everyone gathered in the center of the tent.  Each country's intern team came to the middle and the rest surrounded them while different ones took turns praying.

I wish you'd been there to hear the power of those prayers, and the passion with which they were prayed.

These 111 summer interns fan out across Central and Eastern Europe tomorrow, to join the rest of our JV staff in bringing the Gospel to thousands of young people this summer. Oh may it be a summer filled with much spiritual fruit as these laborers head into the fields that are ripe for harvest.

After the time of prayer finished, I spent a few minutes with Tomáš, one of my dear 'adopted' sons here in Czech. A student at BMA with our kids years ago, he came to Christ his first year of high school and never looked back. He's got a heart, passion and zeal for the Lord that is contagious!

A university student now, he's giving his second summer in a row to serve as an intern here in his own country of Czech. When I asked him what specific requests I could pray for this summer, he gave me three.

They're so good, I want to give them here so you can join me in not only praying for Tomáš, but the same prayers for the other 110 JV interns!

1. Boldness - to share the Gospel without hesitation

2. A Servant Heart - to serve his fellow teammates and those at camp like Jesus would, being faithful in the little things.

3. The Future - for God to bring clarity about what his/their next steps are, particularly in regards to ministry and if God's calling is for full time.

Tomorrow morning these interns fan out into twelve countries across Central and Eastern Europe. Pray that God will do a mighty work through and in them this summer!
