A Quick Stop

While Vienna is well known for its art museums, classical music concerts, majestic architecture and the Sachertorte, there's another tradition dating back to the 1700's that puts it on the map as well: its Christmas markets.

Since it's on the way back to Czech, we couldn't pass up a stop there to soak in the beautiful Christmas atmosphere this evening.

While there are multiple venues of the market scattered throughout the city, definitely one of the most impressive it at the "Rathaus", or city hall. A cell phone picture just doesn't do it justice.

The three of us wandered through the market, taking in all the familiar sights and sounds.

Not to mention the nearly intoxicating smell of bratwurst and sauerkraut, accompanied by "senf", their version of mustard. After a long day of driving, nothing could've tasted better as we sat on a park bench to enjoy it!

With nearly four more hours ahead of us, we grabbed coffee to go at Jonas Reindl, a cafe Claire found for us on "Yelp" and continued on our way.

A quick stop to make another memory together was definitely worth it as we enjoy having Claire home this Christmas!
