When It Rains

One summer a few years ago, when it seemed to be raining a lot, Dave did a little research. He found that July is the rainiest month of the year in our part of the Czech Republic.

But we're beginning to wonder about August now!

This afternoon was an absolute torrential downpour! And it's not the first time we've had that happen this month.

And yet at the same time as it poured at our house, up on Lysa Hora (the tall mountain in the background) the sun was shining. Such a paradoxical picture.

I thought about God's perspective today as I watched it pour.

While it was stormy in my little corner of the world, He showed me sunshine not so far away.

I am tucking away these pictures in my heart for a day when I need this truth. I want to remember that even if it's raining where I am, He's got sunshine somewhere else not too far away.

And that if it's raining where I'm at, there is benefit and beauty to it.

It all comes from His hands.

"Whatever the Lord pleases, he does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightening with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses." Ps 135:6-7
