Best Valentine's Ever

In the past couple of days I've had such sweet connections with people who are so very dear to me. It's been a  "Valentine's Day" celebration for three days now!

On a layover in Denver on Thursday my dear in-laws came out to the airport to see us for just a little over an hour. Though it was short, it was definitely sweet and meant a lot to us.

On Friday, my only full day in Portland, I had lots of happy Valentine's connections.

My dear best friend of 35 years met me downtown and treated me to breakfast at "Mother's", and then a little Valentine's shopping spree. She spoiled me!!

For lunch my precious parents drove up from Eugene and treated me to clam chowder at our favorite restaurant of my childhood, Dan and Louis' Oyster Bar in Old Town Portland.

So fun to be with them for lunch and then at Starbucks for some Valentine fun!

It's always hard to say goodbye. But on the other hand I'm just so grateful for all the times the Lord has made it possible for me to see them!

Dave and I then headed over to the Pearl District in the evening to see our last Valentine's, Dave's brother Steve and his girlfriend, Nicole. What a special evening we had with these two! I'm pretty sure I had the best meal that I've ever had in the US at Tasty N Alder. Wow! Thank you for treating us Steve!

This might possibly have been the best Valentine's Day celebration ever. So many people I love all in the space of a few days!

Now I'm on the plane, headed to Chicago where I'll see our kids, my other Valentine's, for the next few days.

Yes, I think I can safely say: best Valentine's ever!

  1. I'm soooo happy that I could be part of your Valentines celebration this year! And just for the record: YOU made mine one of my favorites ever too. There's nothing like heart connections with life-long friends who just melt right into that familiar place in one's heart that has her name written on it. A place that no one else can fill. I love you so much, dear heart friend. We're both tanked up big time for now and that makes my heart so happy! Love you more than words can say. :o)
