Surprise Guests in Jackson

When my phone rang at 9 PM last night from an unknown number, I debated whether or not to answer.

Thankfully, curiosity got the best of me. Anyone recognize who came to see us here in Jackson, Wyoming???

Our JV teammates, Dan and Laura Hash!!!

They are also on sabbatical after twenty years of service with JV, and we were all just together at Caleb and Haley's wedding in Colorado last week. But when we said goodbye on Sunday we thought we wouldn't see them until they return in September.

So glad God surprised us all!

They are on their way out to the Pacific Northwest and decided to drive through Jackson and see if they could stop by. Arriving at 10:30 PM last night, we stayed up until 1 AM laughing, talking and enjoying extra special time together.

Because they have a long drive ahead of them today, we were all up early this morning. But that didn't stop us from getting some fun photos together!

Dan and Dave have been friends since they were just young boys (their dads were two of the founders of Cadence International), while Laura and I have been friends for 30 years after serving on a Malachi team back in 1984, and then spending a year together in the Multnomah grad program.

So you can imagine how special it was to have those hours together with these very precious, long-time friends.

"Thank you for stopping by Dan and Laura! We can't wait to get back to life together in Czech and Poland!"

**A "before and after" of us! The four of us moved into Czech and Poland in November 1993 to begin the ministry of Josiah Venture. We still love each other and deeply enjoy life together!!**
See HERE for my blog post on our website about the beginning of JV!

  1. SOOOOOOO Fun! I love the before and after picture too! If I do say so myself, I think you all look MUCH better now!!

And when I read they were on a "20 year sabbatical" I thought that it really might be nice to have 20 years off. Silly me! It took me a minute but I figured it out! Tee-hee!

So happy that you got a jolt of friendship love last night into the wee hours! Love you all :o)
