So Many Good Gifts

This trip to the States has been full of so many good gifts from the Lord. And today was no exception.

Claire and I woke here this morning, the home we've stayed in for the past three nights while she's had support raising meetings in Colorado Springs.

Just a little over a year ago I was visiting Claire in this area while she was finishing a summer internship at Mission Training International. I happened to see a friend's post on Facebook that she had just moved to this area, and in fact, was just a few hundred feet down the road from MTI in her new home!

Fast forward to this morning, and here we are staying in that very place, thanks to the kindness of these friends who let us stay even though they're not here!

THANK YOU Robert and Sondra for the blessing and gift of your home these past days!!

Leaving the Springs, Claire and I headed up to Denver for a sweet afternoon with these dear ones.

My sister-in-law, Joyce and dear friend, Jerri, carved out the afternoon for some girlfriend time with me. I've known these ladies for thirty three years now, and they've played such a significant part of my life...truly gifts from the Lord that he has used to shape me into who I am today. What a good gift to spend some hours with them today.

And then we headed down the street for more goodness!

My mother and father-in-law live down the street from Joyce, their daughter. Claire and I had the joy of sharing a meal at their table tonight, which is always a bountiful privilege.

Not only did we enjoy dinner and long conversation afterward at the table with them, but my new niece, Ellen, whose wedding we were just at in Portland, Oregon, joined us! She and Justin live here now so it was absolutely delightful to spend an evening with her.

I'm overflowing with thankfulness to the Lord for his good gifts today, and every day!
