Meeting Charlie!!

Can you see a certain, special little someone coming out of the house with his mama??

I've been patiently waiting for this moment for exactly ... seventeen days. And today is the day!!!

What pure joy to meet our new grandson, Charles "Charlie" Salem Patty!!!

Caleb SO kindly took pictures of Dave and I meeting his and Haley's precious son today, memories that are now sealed into my heart and soul forever. I'll never forget this moment of seeing him for the first time, beholding the wonder and miracle of their first child.

Getting to hold him, look in his face, and whisper words of love over him was simply THE BEST!!

Oh and lots of kisses...there are never enough of those for this dear little grandson.

Dave and I arrived into Denver late last night, and then drove up to Fort Collins today to meet Charlie and spend time adoring, admiring and loving on this sweet boy who has already captured our hearts.

Caleb knows my love language of photos, so kept taking them to give me lots of visual memories of these first sweet touches with Charlie.

At even an early age, he has such a sweet and peaceful disposition about him.

And neither of us could get enough of holding him!

It really brought no end of delight to us to soak in every little bit of this precious little man.

And to enjoy watching our kids be parents. Oh they are good ones!

Caleb and Haley are full of joy and thankfulness to the Lord for the gift of their son, and are definitely soaking in the fun and wonder of him.

From an early age, both of them expressed a desire to be parents so this is like a "dream come true".

In fact, I can remember Caleb being just four years old, sitting on his dad's lap, saying that when he grew up he wanted to be a dad! And I've heard similar stories about Haley.

Now, in the Lord's kindness and perfect timing, he has given them the desire of their heart and they are so thrilled with this little man, their son.

"Charlie, you've captured all of our hearts, and we're so thankful to have these days here with you, and your mommy and daddy, getting to know you in these first days of your life. We love you and are so thankful that God chose you to be in our family!"
