Typical July Day

You might not guess it, but July is actually the rainiest month in this part of the Czech Republic.

While other parts of the world are suffering from a lack of rain (like my own beloved Oregon...hard to believe!), we had a nice downpour this afternoon to cool off the unusual high temps we've been experiencing this week. Yes, even we have had more sunshine and heat than usual.

But not today!

I don't think I've ever seen this square without a single person walking through, especially in the middle of the day.

But like me, everyone was staying under the porticos until it passed, especially since most of us were without umbrellas!

With a lot of projects to catch up on these days, it's sure easier to do them in cool weather rather than heat. So I'm thankful for the refreshing rain!

  1. We would love to have a day of that rain right now. It has been a hot and dry summer here in the valley.
