Christmas Joy

Only twice in my life have I been in a warm climate for Christmas. Once in Spain in 1984, and once in Croatia, today.

The year I spent in Spain I was a single missionary woman, teaching school for three children, my first year on the mission field.

Today, thirty two years later, I'm a wife, mom, and grandma, still serving as a missionary (in the Czech Republic though!).

*Thanks for figuring out a way to take our picture today, Claire!*

No matter where I've been on this holiday, it's always been a meaningful day, celebrating my most precious and priceless gift: Jesus!

I'm still in awe that God became flesh and dwelt among us so that he could then be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. I'll never stop being thankful for him, for his love, grace and forgiveness that made a way for me to have a relationship with him.

It was pure joy to celebrate him today with Dave and Claire here in Croatia.
