A Matter of Minutes

Claire and I both get our hair cut at a salon in Poland, about forty five minutes from where we live.

In all my years of living here I have to say, there is just something unique and wonderful about Polish hairdressers! And making the drive there is actually one of those things that I look forward to, especially when Claire and I go together.

On the drive today we were commenting on how beautiful the sky was, and how it looked like it was early spring with some sunshine peaking through the gray/purple clouds of late afternoon.

We parked on the Czech side of the river, then crossed over into Poland on foot, again noting what a pleasant afternoon it was.

Today it was Claire's turn to get a haircut so I just brought a magazine that had come during December and hadn't had time to read. It was such a treat to curl up on the couch in the salon and read, time just kind of standing still.

An hour and fifteen blissful minutes later, Claire had a darling new haircut and it was time to walk back across the border to our car and head home.

Little did we know what had happened outside while we had been cozily tucked away at the salon.

We walked out into blizzard like conditions, and were covered in snow within seconds!

Crazy what can happen in just a matter of minutes.

It's nice to be tucked away at home now, waiting to see what will happen tonight - if there will finally be some snow on the ground when we wake up.
