Christmas Eve Hike

Christmas Eve day dawned bright and beautiful on Hvar, so it was an easy decision to take a hike together this afternoon and enjoy the sunshine and views.

The bluest skies you'll ever see are here on Hvar!

And there are so many different things flowering right now, including these daffodils.

Though we were headed to a beach Dave and I went to recently, we decided to take the old path instead of the dirt road.

Before they carved out the dirt road alongside the mountain slopes a few years ago, this was the path for walking along the edge!

Kaylee trooped right along, until the path was too overgrown for her to make it through. Then there was a silent pleading with her eyes that asked, "Could you pick me up??" Claire was sweet to oblige her.

Eventually it opened up into a wider path to walk on which made picture taking quite a bit easier!

It wasn't quite "over the river", but it was definitely "through the woods"!

And finally we reached the beach!

This was my favorite picture of the day: A proud dad capturing his lovely daughter!

Claire was the first to take off socks and shoes and wade into the ocean.

It didn't take any convincing for Dave to do the same (and lay down for a little catnap on the beach!).

I joined in too, going into the cool water, as well as resting on the beach. We sat throwing rocks into the ocean and enjoying the sounds of the water lapping at the beach.

With no one else around, it was ever so enjoyable to just be "us" down there this afternoon!

We are loving time with our girl, and the beauty of this place.
