Do It Again, Lord

"Walking around these walls, I thought by now they'd fall...but you have never failed me yet."

At our JV fall conference last week in Malenovice, we heartily sang a new worship song that has resonated in my mind ever since.

"Do It Again" by Elevation Worship starts out with those words above, and continues on with so much heart, depth and truth. Its words spoke deeply to me as it's meaning burrowed into my heart. I've walked certain roads many times in life, always a little surprised when I find myself back on them again.

Don't we all think the Lord might be finished when we get through a certain challenge?

I found myself in Vienna on Monday and Tuesday this week, walking down a medical road much like I have many other times in life (with our kids, and for myself). It's not something serious, just something I've been dealing with for four years and would like to get taken care of.

So I'm back on this road, asking the Lord to show me the way forward even though it's not clear yet.

The song builds towards the end with these words:

I've seen You move, You move the mountains
And I believe, I'll see You do it again
You made a way, where there was no way
And I believe, I'll see You do it again

There are a lot of situations around us that are "walls" we've been walking around for a while, that we thought would fall by now. We don't see the way forward.

But I absolutely believe God will be faithful! He always has been. Every. Single. Time.

Those walls that once seemed insurmountable will fall in his time. And for every one of those seemingly impossible walls we're facing...I know he will do it again. He will bring them down and make even the rubble from them beautiful, as he always has.

I don't know how he'll do it. But he will.

If you want to listen to the song, here it is. It's truly worth listening to all 6 minutes. I can't get it out of my head. Hope you won't be able to either!

  1. Oh amen and amen! Thank you for this, Con. It so resonates with where my heart is today. Walking those walls with you.
