Sunday Afternoon Hospital Visit

The last time I was here I stayed a week because of a migraine. I remember thinking when I left, "I hope I don't return for a long time."

Nemocnice (hospital) ve Frýdku-Místku

After three and half years of not being at the hospital, I returned this afternoon.

But I'm thankful that a) I wasn't returning for a migraine and b) I wasn't staying.

It was just a visit to outpatient ER for a bad case of strep throat that couldn't wait until tomorrow.

There was no one else there, the doctor saw me right away, did a thorough exam, diagnosed, wrote a report, gave me a prescription, and I was out in less than fifteen minutes.

In the meantime Dave had to run over to another building to pay the bill: 90 Kc = $4.

On a day like today when I'm feeling horrible, I'm thankful for a quick and efficient medical system that could take care of me so easily on a week-end.

And now that I have some antibiotic in me, I sure hope to feel better soon.
