A Splash of Color on a Dreary Day

Outside it's a dull, dreary day.  Even the weather app on my phone calls it that!

After a sleepless night because of sickness, I could use a little color in my day.

Literally the view out our window today

How about my adorable, colorful parents to perk me up?

This Christmas season they've been taking my dad's beautiful handmade birdhouses to holiday bazaars in Eugene, Oregon where they live.

All those pretty colors can't help but perk up a dreary day, right?!

My dad's been a woodworker all my life, making all sorts of different things out in his garage. But these are definitely the cheeriest things he's ever made. I've got two in my house and wish I had more (hint, hint dad!). They're just so happy to look at.

He's got all sorts of different shapes, sizes and colors - something to bring a smile to everyone's face.

Including a green and yellow one for an University of Oregon Duck fan. After their win against Arizona yesterday, the Ducks are rated as one of the top two teams in the nation right now. Surely someone will want the birdhouse on the left to celebrate their victory!

Dad and mom are at another bazaar today on Maxwell Road in Eugene, so if you happen to be in the area, stop by to say hello to them!

And don't forget to pick up a bright, cheery birdhouse while you're at it!
