Nonnie Camp

Today began a week of conference for JV staff up at Malenovice, our training center nearby.

This is a brand new staff development conference that we've never done before, called JV Winter Academy. Its purpose is to provide our team with opportunities to increase their competencies and capabilities in ministry, bring everyone up to speed on the DNA of JV, and continue to facilitate relationships among all of our country teams.

But I'm not at it. Instead I'm having "Nonnie Camp" at our house with Judah and Asher, our grandsons who just moved here.

Their parents, Tyler and Lara, are at the conference all week, along with Dave and Claire.

So they're only seeing the boys for a few minutes during the morning (if they're awake!), and otherwise, I've got them from early morning through bedtime.

So things look a little different at our house than they ever have before, and that's pretty fun!

The boys and I are having such a delightful time getting to know each other, and I'm really enjoying learning who they are since this is our first extended time together.

My dear friend, Ingrid, gave me these bunnies several years ago, in anticipation of me having grandchildren. They've already become a treasure to Judah! He and I named them today: Honey and Bobo!

I don't know if there's a better name than "Nonnie Camp" for what this week is (I'm taking suggestions!), but I'm looking at it from a long term perspective of investing in these boys, and all of our grandchildren, over the next years. So we're learning, experimenting and figuring out how a week at Nonnie's house works!

What a gift from the Lord to have these two here with me this week!
