Spice of Life

Dave and I are almost at the end of our writing and study time on Hvar. It's been a very fruitful time here as we've both worked on long term projects and made great progress.

The view out our window has definitely been inspiring creativity every day!

All of the following photos are in order of appearance here on Hvar!

Every other day or so, I've taken a smilier picture at about the same time just to document for myself how every day is so different here.

And truly, we've had just about every type of weather that there is here!

There have been torrential rains, hazy horizons, gusty winds and gloomy clouds...

...along with warm sunshine...

...and awe-inspiring sunsets!

While today ended on a very blue note.

Blue only in color, not in emotion! ðŸ˜Š

I'll get in one more late afternoon photo (these were all taken between 4:15 - 4:25) tomorrow as by Friday, we'll be headed for home to get ready for Christmas in a completely different type of setting; one that I love, by the way!

I just looked up the origin of the phrase, "Variety is the spice of life" and it comes from a poem written by English poet, William Cowper in 1785.

His 234 year old definition is one of my favorites!

  1. This series of pictures is remnicient of the haystack paintings by Monet. Sublime yet delightful for portraying the same scene in different light! Well done.
