Reading a Classic

I'm not sure how I never read a certain classic book. Especially since it's been quite popular in my own family.

But since we're still on quarantine, I'm doing it!

At first I was on our swing, with an umbrella because the sunshine was so bright!

Yes, for the first time in my life, I'm reading The Fellowship of the Ring.

I've never even seen the Lord of the Ring movies, so this is REALLY a first read-through! And oh am I hooked! So much so that I went outside for my lunch break and ended up reading outside on the grass for an hour.

I didn't think it would be my genre of reading, but thanks to the persistence of our kids who assured me I'd love it (as they do!), I took the plunge. And am I ever glad I did!

What could be more glorious than immersing yourself in a book, while laying outside in the grass under sunshine, blue sky and wispy white clouds?!

It was awfully hard to go back to work after that luxurious break!
