Friendship Treasure

Once again here at Gull Lake Ministries we have the joy of being with these long time friends.

Jim and Barbara, and their two daughters and son-in-laws

Jim and Barbara were my college youth group leaders 'back in the day', significantly impacting my spiritual life as a young adult, as well as praying that God would lead Dave and I together. Needless to say, they are very dear to my heart!

In later years, when their daughter, Karen, was college aged, she came out to Czech to live with us two different times, helping me in some of our early days of missionary life there. She was with us at crucial times when I needed extra hands to manage all that was going on in life then.

I first met her when she was 6 and I was 19, when we couldn't have been further apart in life! Yet God formed a deep friendship between us later on, and I absolutely treasure any time we get to see each other now.

We snuck away tonight, to the only place we could find to be alone: a stairwell in the house where Dave and I are staying this week! Three hours of conversation there was not enough; but I'll take whatever I can get with this dear and precious friend of mine.
